Custom Furniture in Dubai: Sizes, Materials and Lead Times

How made-to-measure furniture works at Wood Culture: what you can change, how long it takes, and how to start.

Short answer: At Wood Culture you can customise the size, materials and finish of our locally made furniture, with a lead time of around 2–3 weeks from our Al Quoz workshop. Customised imported pieces take 90–120 days.

What you can customise

  • Dimensions: width, depth and height to fit an alcove, a wall or an awkward corner.
  • Materials: wood type, rattan details, fabrics and upholstery.
  • Finish and colour: wood tones, paint colours and textured finishes.
  • Pieces: sofas, dining tables, TV units, bookshelves, wardrobes, consoles and built-in storage.

Local vs imported: what's the difference?

Around 30% of our collection is made in our own workshop in Al Quoz, Dubai. These pieces are the fastest and most flexible to customise, typically in 2–3 weeks. The other 70% is handcrafted by artisan partners in Indonesia; these can also be customised, but because they are made and shipped from abroad, allow 90–120 days.

How the process works

  1. Share your idea: send photos, measurements or a reference piece by WhatsApp or email, or visit the showroom.
  2. Design consultation: our team helps you choose materials, finishes and proportions that suit your space.
  3. Quote and confirmation: you receive a price and lead time before anything is made.
  4. Production: your piece is made in our workshop or by our artisan partners.
  5. Delivery: free across the UAE on orders over AED 1,000, placed in the room of your choice.
